Emeritus Professor Ken Taylor AM
Adjunct Professor
Research School of Humanities and the Arts

On retiring at end of 2002 from University of Canberra I joined the Humanities Research Centre as  a Visiting Fellow in 2003 and became an Adjunct Professor, Research School of Humanities and Arts in 2007.  At RSH&A I give guest lectures from time to time to graduate classes in cultural heritage management, chair three PhD panels and am member of three other panels and also contribute to workshops organised by IPPHA (Inst for Prof Practice in Heritage and the Arts).

I am Visiting Professor in the International Program for Architectural Heritage Management, Silpakorn University, Bangkok where I teach graduate classes in heritage management and supervise PhD students. This year (2012) have been asked to teach at Tongji University, Shanghai for one month. Have been developing contacts with colleagues in China and been invited to speak at various workshops and symposia in China in the field of cultural landscape conservation and management. Am currently liaising with Rutgers University, USA, on organising a conference Cultural Landscapes: Preservation Challenges in the 21st Century. Have been invited also to attend and speak later this year at a workshop in the Philippines.

  • Guest Convenor exhibition at NLA  Country and Landscape, 2006
  • Member of ICOMOS International Scientific Committee on Cultural Landscapes. Undertake Desk Reviews for World Heritage nominations on behalf of ICOMOS for UNESCO World Heritage Committee. Have been involved in work for UNESCO.

  • Member AusHeritage Board
